Ia mengatakan, untuk pencegahan pihaknya akan melakukan sosialisasi kepada masyarakat selama enam bulan. Jasa penyedia download gratis bisa diblokir. Menurutnya, selama ini masyarakat Indonesia khususnya anak muda, sudah terbiasa dengan layanan download lagu gratis.

"Untuk pencegahan masalah illegal downloading ini pertama-tama kita akan sosialisasikan dulu ke masyarakat karena kalau langsung diblokir bisa jadi masyarakat akan marah. Selama ini, masyarakat kita khususnya remaja sudah terbiasa mengunduh lagu gratis di dunia maya," ujarnya.

Sebelumnya, Tifatul mengatakan bahwa dirinya kedatangan dua orang pencipta lagu yaitu, Sam Bimbo dan Titik Puspa. Kedua pencipta lagu tersebut mengeluhkan maraknya situs penyedia download lagu gratis tanpa memberikan imbalan apapun kepada mereka.

Sehubungan hal tersebut, Tifatul Sembiring menyarankan pencipta lagu menjual lagunya seharga Rp 1.000. Sementara untuk lagu lama, Tifatul menyarankan dijual seharga Rp 500. “Agar tidak ribet, saya menyarankan pencipta lagu menjual lagunya Rp 1.000 agar masyarakat bisa membelinya,” ujar

Menurut Tifatul, usulan menjual murah lagu-lagu karya musisi tersebut adalah untuk menghilangkan pembajakan karya-karya tersebut di dunia maya secara perlahan. Penjualan itu tidak akan merugikan musisi, bahkan dimungkinkan mendapat untung karena pembajakan berkurang atau hilang.

“Nanti akan ada fee. Ini akan memberikan keuntungan. Para kreator kita di bidang musik, tidak mati langkah atau tidak patah arang. Dia juga perlu dikasih keuntungan. Jangan mencipta, tetapi orang lain yang untung,” jelasnya.
