It will be at least until the year 2009 before another bill is introduced into Congress becausenext year (2008) is an election year and an immigration bill will be toocontroversial. The situation in Indonesia is getting better which means that it will be more difficult to be granted asylum in the United States -- not impossible, but certainly more difficult. The Lolong case has lost at the Ninth Circuit. This means that the asylum applicant's legal case must be based on the already-approved Sael case. ================================================= R1 Visa for religious applicant: 1. Is it better to continue to apply R1 in Indonesia or is it better in the United States? If I did not get rejected by the U.S. embassy and I have not applied for R1, is it better to do it in Indonesia or in the United States? .
